As part of our work on Australian Megafauna ( We finished reading Beyond the Dusk as a serial last week) I created step by step instructions for drawing a marsupial lion. The children attempted to draw it ( they did a good job) and place it on a branch with a bush fire background painted in water colors. The finished projects I've put n display. We're finishing off our Australian theme this week and I've just started reading The Island of the Blue Dolphins.

Sunrise
I don't recommend getting to work at sunrise although it is very quiet and peaceful and you can get a lot done.

Moorabool Network
Glen Park PS has been a member of the Moorabool Collegiate Group for the last 18 years. (Previously the Bungaree Cluster from the early 80s)This year our Collegiate Group has become the Moorabool Network- a change of name but still a group of small rural school leaders supporting each other and promoting the values and advantages of small rural school education.
The Moorabool Network held its first joint 'Networking Day' this afternoon. Teachers in our schools met together in small groups ( principals, specialist teachers, grade 3-4 teachers, grade 5-6 teachers, Early Years teachers, office staff and teacher aides) to 'meet and greet' and form informal networks where they can share ideas, expertise and resources.
Allan Peach, principal of Myrniong Primary School ( refer photos of the school and its lovely views) played host. We will organise networking days such as this once per term if the feedback from today is positive and possibly even a full day curriculum day later in the year.

Winter tree glimpse
That was the title of this art idea on Pinterest but I made it an Autumn glimpse picture. We drew a rectangle border around 3 pieces of A4 card using autumn colors (orange, brown and yellow)We drew tree trunks from the bottom to the top and tried to stagger them so we could see a bit of each.
We cut out the bits between the branches ( I helped to cut out some) and we used double sided foam tape to paste the 3 windows together. we were supposed to put the lightest color in front and that would of looked better but most forgot and put brown first probably because I drew that for them as a sample.
We then cut out autumn leaves using some stampers with leaf patterns and scattered them about. The final product I think looks great.
