Putting education first

The sign ( or as the AEU says the 'corflute') says it all.
The AEU has sent these signs out to schools ( hopefully all of them will be putting them up this week) to promote the importance of supporting education coming up to the election in November.
The small print is more important than the main message. 'Giving every child every chance'!
Well we now know ( if those of us in rural schools didn't already know) thanks to the Auditor General that kids in rural schools don't get a fair chance. The government have given up and have put off the release of their 'rural school plan' probably until the election. I'd like to see the AEU give up on the lost cause of Gonski and start focussing on making rural education an important issue in marginal rural seats.
