Making Tepees

Today the grade 6 kids started work on their tepees.
They drew an outline using a template. I provided. Drew designs on their tepee outline with fabric markers. they then painted over it with water color to make it look like hides. then they stitched it together. The poles holding it up were made from wooden skewers or twigs. These were glued together with a glue gun.

The kids took them outside and took photos of them as if they were real.

The local shire turned up in force to cut and mulch up the tree that was burnt down earlier in the week.

We also finished our dream catchers.

Interesting story in today's Guardian Australia.
