Burning off

I popped up to school this morning to get a few things done prior to a very busy week next week. Our neighbours were burning off this morning on both sides of the road near the school.Some parts of the country have endured a very early summer or the effects of global warming and Sydney has suffered very severe bushfires. We are in for a bad fire season over summer 2013-14. Glen Park has been recognised as a school under potential bushfire threat. ( In severe conditions where there are high temperatures and strong northerly winds our school will be closed.) The burning off is an attempt to prepare us for the coming bushfire season.
