Remembrance Day

Our Remembrance Day craft activity is straight from Pinterest and worked really well.
(below is a photo of Ballarat's Arch of Victory- built after the Great War as an entrance to the cities impressive Avenue of Honour. I took a photo of it at about 6:30 this morning on the way to work.)
The images below are in order. I printed off the poem of Flanders Fields and background information about Remembrance Day ( formerly Armistice Day) and we glued that onto sketch pad paper and covered them with water color paint. ( Most chose blue) We then made our poppies using crepe paper ( There are loads of poppy making ideas on Pinterest) and attached them. the final product was very attractive.with the younger students we made poppies that they could wear and take home.
