Fiskville

Professor Joy's largely inadequate study of the effects of dangerous and carcinogenic chemicals at Fiskville Fire Training Centre found that there were no ill effects for staff and students as a result of their time in very close proximity to the CFA facility.
Thankfully the Parliamentary committee reviewing the incidence of cancer and other illnesses suffered by those in proximity to the site found otherwise.
Their conclusion and recommendation is below.
It is interesting and disturbing that they got the names of students not from DET but from a school produced history. I hope DET will be able to actively assist regarding the recommendations. I have my doubts! I intend to follow this up with DET, the AEU and the Chair of the committee.

The Committee believes that the small number of students and teachers who attended Fiskville State School means this group could form an ideal cohort for a health study on the effects of contamination at Fiskville. The names of every student and teacher who attended Fiskville State School are listed in We Made the Most of It.

RECOMMENDATION 4: That the Victorian Government offer all students and teachers who attended Fiskville State School the opportunity to participate in a health study on the effects of contamination at Fiskville.
