Paul Jennings

About Paul Jennings

The Paul Jennings phenomenon began with the publication of Unreal! in 1985. Since then, readers all around the world have devoured his stories. He has been voted 'favourite author' by children in Australia over forty times and has won every children's choice awards in Australia. In 1995 Paul was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to children's literature, and in 2001 he was awarded the Dromkeen Medal for services to children's literature. In 2007, Paul Jennings' worldwide sales surpassed 8 million copies. His previous novel, How Hedley Hopkins Did a Dare, was shorlisted for the 2006 Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award: Younger Readers. Jennings has been working lately with the remarkable  Andy Griffiths on some comical tales that kids love. My class in 2003 wrote directly to Jennings and he wrote back and sent us one of his recent books which was greatly appreciated. ( not all authors do that)
